Source: (Tracks 1 to 5) AUD recording (no other info) > flac (torret on Dime) > wav (retracked) > flac. (Tracks 6 to 12) Traded CDR > wav (retracked) > flac. Calyx website lists this show as "Daevid Allen, Mother Gong". Planet Gong lists it as Mother Gong ("Smyth, Williamson, Allan & Hopper - possibly Daevid"). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a request from a couple of Dime members to seed this show. It comes from two separate sources. The first one is from a torrent seeded here a few years ago. The second part comes from a traded CDR. Almost no info so I'm not sure if there were separate Allen - Mother Gong sets or if it was just a jam thing ("I Am Your Pussy" has Williamson singing but Daevid at the end singing Happy Xmas). The first band were the Off Beats who on that night included Tasmin Smyth (Gilli's daughter) & Hamish from Charly records (vox). Sphynx played their set as well. (Thanks Woodland for this info). This is probably their set. A couple of members are introduced like this: "This is Steve Hillage the 13th on guitar". "The drummer plays for a Brighton band called "The DP's". I removed two tracks from the cdr which were part of the 1978-12-18 "University Of East Anglia" torrent: "Only Make Love If You Want To" (end only) and "People Poem - Jam". Both were longer and cleaner on the E. Anglia source and I'm convinced they belong to that previous day's gig (or some other) rather than this one so it was useless duplicating them here. Please keep it lossless. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have more info on this show please share them. Enjoy!
